It took a couple of months, but Sherwood police have decided to press charges against the Sherwood man who killed a youth on his property when he fired what he described as warning shots at prowlers. Here’s the Sherwood police release:
In reference to the incident, which occurred on October 23, 2007, in which Mr. Bryant Cross, 18 years old, 112 Mimosa St., N.L.R., AR was found dead in the creek behind 10701 Hwy. 107, the residence of Mr. Larry Staley (pictured).
Mr. Larry Staley was arrested today at 2:30 p.m. on 2 warrants and transported to the Sherwood Police Department. Mr. Staley was charged with Manslaughter (Class C Felony) and Possession of Firearms By Certain Persons (Class B Felony). Mr. Staley was convicted of a Felony in Texas in the 1980’s .
Mr. Staley will be held at the Sherwood Jail and will be arraigned on Thursday Morning around 7:30 a.m. where his bond will be determined.
