I missed this earlier. A Washington Post writer swung through Hope, Ark., to get the measure of the birthplace of one president and, perhaps, of a second. First time I’ve seen a photo of Mike Huckabee’s house, a solid brick home, with floors and all. The writer notes that Hope trends heavily Democratic, but fails to note that preference has also included races by Huckabee and his wife, Janet, another Hope native. The county went for Democrats in their his-and-her race for state office in 2002. Mike did well enough elsewhere to be re-elected governor. Janet failed in her bid for secretary of state, in 74 of 75 counties.

UPDATE: The writer also blogged a bunch, with many Hope photos.
