Times photographer Brian Chilson caught the scenes of the retrieval late Thursday of the scaffolding cage that fell into the Arkansas River yesterday with three men trapped inside. A crane positioned on the I-430 bridge lifted the scaffold, which fell 50 feet and sank another 20 feet early Thursday, to a waiting barge. Only one body was recovered; authorities said it would be pointless, given the swift flow and depth of the river, to continue recovery efforts for the other two men today, Fox 16 reported earlier this morning. The men were installing a water line under the interstate bridge when their scaffold broke away.
