Right now, Max has a lobster-stained bib on. Here’s an official open line for the rest of us.
PS from Max — Yes, I had a lobster roll and fried clams at Bob’s Clam Shack in Kittery, then motored on to Freeport for the obligatory visit to L.L. Bean. John Hiatt was playing a concert outside in cool weather.
PPS — A gratuitous late hit on an article in the morning D-G — its followup (our role unacknowledged) to our stories on special housing deals for Young Republicans who attend UCA. How did state Rep. Michael Lamoureux happen to horn his way into the story with comments on the situation? He who appeared from nowhere with the political witch hunt alibi for obvious influence peddling at UCA. Of course he volunteered himself into the picture not so much to cover for President Lu Hardin, who has bigger issues to cope with, but to cover for state Sen. Gilbert Baker, who hasgrazed off the fatted UCA Bear for years. The Repubs need to come up with some cover for Baker in his tough re-election battle. For now it’s crying that it’s no fair for the mean old nasty newspapers to point out the deals the Baker family enjoys that aren’t available to other UCA students. Witch hunt vs. special favors? I think Conway folks will see through that nonsense. Stay tuned for some more Baker special dealing at UCA this week.
PPPS — Archaeopteryx, belated congrats on winning the veep sweep. The Hop chili dog is yours for the claiming. Come on by Markham and Scott any time and I’ll treat you to lunch, sody pop included. Or send me a mailing address and I’ll send you a coupon.
