Our Insider this week had the jump on news of some interest to those who commute along the Cantrell Road corridor.

It’s now been confirmed that Harvest Foods is pulling out of the store in Riverdale. A news release said it declined to renew the lease at a higher rate and will move the pharmacy there to its Tanglewood store.

It is the end of what is known to one and all as the world’s largest convenience store. Big stock, particularly in the beer department, and a nice selection of Latino foodstuffs. Shopper volume was light, so it was easy in and out for a better selection and lower prices than at the average stop-n-go, if not the place you’d likely do all your regular shopping.
