Nate Silver continues to crunch presidential election numbers. Here, he’s looking at the correlation between the percentage of black voters in Southern states and the percentage of white voters who voted for Obama. The blacker the state the smaller the percentage of the white vote, generally speaking.

I noted one mildly positive thing. In Arkansas, 30 percent of white voters favored Obama. Could have been a lot worse. Other lower percentages in the South and region: Oklahoma (29); South Carolina (26); Texas (26); Georgia (23); Louisiana (14); Mississippi (11); Alabama (10).

Better numbers: Florida (42); Missouri (42); Virginia (39); Kentucky (36); North Carolina (35); Tennessee (34).
