Sounds like it is quiet in Arkansas. But a raucous demonstration is underway in Brussels at the Bourse. It’s a protest of Israel’s attacks in Gaza — a subject of much discussion in cafes I’ve visited. World affairs are big news stories here. I’m always reminded on trips how parochial most of us in America tend to be.
No rough stuff occurred as we walked by the rally, but I stepped lively to move beyond the police with riot equipment all the same.

I admit that the sights in shop windows, a chocolate shop every few feet, were more alluring. Not to mention sidewalk displays of fresh seafood.
