Chad Causey seems headed to a narrow victory over Tim Wooldridge in the Democratic runoff for the 1st District nomination. Whew.

That 3rd District Republican runoff between Steve Womack and Cecile Bledsoe is 50-50 with a lot of precincts out. UPDATE: Womack won it thanks to a huge margin in Benton County, home to both candidates. Benton County Judge Dave Bisbee, the former senator enmeshed in legal troubles, was defeated in the runoff.

In Pulaski County:

* Civil rights legend John Walker has won the Democratic nomination for a state House seat. He should survive a Republican opponent and make a lot of legislators squirm come 2011.

* Debbie Murphy, a former Pulaski school board member and committed Democrat, won her runoff to face Republican David Sanders for a WLR House seat.

* Veteran JP Wilandra Dean, a defender of the Lake Maumelle watershed, survived her runoff contest.
