A federal judge has ruled in a Missouri case that a state law attempting to ban protests near funerals is an unconstitutional abridgement of free speech. That’s been our contention all along, disagreeable as it is to know it protects the likes of Fred Phelps and his Westboro boys. Attorney General Dustin McDaniel is busily defending a similar Arkansas law.

The U.S. Supreme Court has already agreed to hear an appeal of an appellate court ruling overturning a damage award over emotional distress allegedly caused by a funeral protest in Maryland.
