Two men in a stolen Tundra smashed the front door of the Col. Glenn Grocery at 17500 Col. Glenn about 4 a.m. this morning and made off with about eight to 10 24-packs of beer and about a carton worth of cigarettes. They only wanted Newports, assistant manager Corena Roberts said.

A surveillance camera caught an image of the men and she said fingerprints were also taken from a countertop. She said about 11 a.m. this morning that she’d been told one suspect was in custody and police were searching for the second.

Roberts said damage to the door, an adjacent wall and security system was substantial. I asked if lottery tickets were stolen. She said they were not because they were “secured” during the night.
