U.S. Rep. Rick Crawford of Jonesboro has thrown in with his reactionary House Republican colleagues in a divide-and-conquer strategy on the farm bill. Divide it between nutrition support and farm subsidies and then the Club for Growth types like Tom Cotton can slash spending on food for poor working people and children.

Crawford stands with the Club for Growth on this one. As the Arkansas Democratic Party points out, that puts him at odds with just about every agricultural organization that counts.

It is also, like the Republican bill in the House to screw college students on their loan program, not going anywhere in the Senate, so it’s just more roadblocking by the reactionaries like Tim Griffin.
