Public Policy Polling is in the field in Arkansas with a robopoll on Democratic candidates for 2nd District Congress.
It is perhaps only coincidental that the survey opened with a question about thoughts on former Lt. Gov. Bill Halter getting in the race. The recorded message didn’t say if the poll was commissoned or a PPP independent sounding.
It went from there, I”m told, to matchups with former state Rep. Linda Tyler and Pat Hays, the former North Little Rock, mayor who is the first in the race for what is now an open seat with Republican Rep. Tim Griffin’s decision to quit Congress.
If the results mirror some produced earlier by a party poll, I don’t think it will encourage a Halter entry.
The poll didn’t test Republican candidates.
