* CHIEF RANGER FOUND DEAD: The Pulaski sheriff’s office has issued the following statement:
Today at 1139 hours, Pulaski County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 23919 Highway 300 [Roland] in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival Deputies located a deceased male at the residence. The male has been identified as Jerry Digman. Digman was the Chief Ranger for the Arkansas State Parks and Tourism (Law Enforcement Division). A next of kin notification has been made.
No other details have been released so far. No arrests have been made.
UPDATE: His wife Pamela, 55, has been charged with shooting him multiple times in a domestic dispute. The sheriff’s report quotes her as saying she shot her husband, a retired State Police investigator, after an altercation. UPDATE II: Democrat-Gazette says Digman’s attorney indicated it was a case of self-defense. Bond was set at $300,000.
* MIKE ROSS BEGINS CAMPAIGN SEASON: Mike Ross is hitting TV tonight during the GoDaddy bowl game in which Arkansas State is playing with a 30-second ad in which ASU alum Gov. Mike Beebe endorses the candidate to succeed him. It will air elsewhere in coming days. Watch it below. From the news release:
