Beginning Monday, February 3, the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS) will offer instant streaming of thousands of movies, television shows, music albums, and audiobooks to patrons at no cost through Hoopla Digital.

Hoopla provides libraries with a content delivery model that enables patrons to instantly borrow materials. The interfaces are intuitive, easy to use, and can be accessed through smartphones, tablets, and computers. To access the system on a mobile device, visit or download the free Hoopla Digital app from Google Play on Android device or the App Store for iOS devices.

Patrons may borrow up to 5 titles each month. Checkout times are 3 days for video, 7 days for music, and 21 days for audiobooks. Once a title is borrowed, the content can be streamed immediately or downloaded to use at a later time. Borrowed content may be accessed anytime during the checkout period.

CALS stays on the cutting edge of technology, offering free wireless access in all fourteen branches, laptop computers for in-house check out, and a state-of-the-art RFID self-check system. Downloadable eBooks, audiobooks, music and magazines are available and accessible 24 hours a day on In 2013, over 240,000 eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, and songs were downloaded from the library.
