Heres some more participatory actvity for a slow Sunday morning.

The ACLU is sponsoring a contest — My Big Gay (Il)legal Wedding.

Five same-sex couples who live in states like Arkansas where marriage is illegal for them will win $5,000 toward a dream wedding and a VIP reception in New York.

An Arkansas couple — Mike Emery, an Air Force combat veteran, and Todd Walters — are among the top vote getters in on-line voting on the winners. The deadline to vote is Feb. 16.

We are saddened that we cannot legally marry in the state we call home! We eagerly look forward to the day when Arkansas recognizes that love is love, and not based solely on others religious beliefs.. We have received nothing but encouragement from friends, family, co-workers, and many more, since announcing our engagement. Our plan is to travel to the pioneering state of Iowa, with a couple close friends, to perform a legally recognized ceremony. We would like to have some type of celebration of our marriage, surrounded by family and friends, after we return home.
