Filing for political offices closes at noon today for the partisan primaries. Judicial candidates have until 3 p.m. to file. Filing continues, ice or no, at the Capitol and county courthouses.

Judging by the looks of my street, I won’t be able to make it to the Capitol to file. I wonder how many others are in the same situation.

I’m checking to see if any important late filers are potentially hamstrung by the ice, which covers a good portion of the state. There’s no filer yet for House District 29, held by Rep. Fred Love of Little Rock. He’s expected to file. Hope he’s en route. Could be slow going. And I hope he’s not waiting for a bus. CATA isn’t running this morning. Will re-evaluate at 9 a.m.

Re a note last night: I’m still expecting interesting developments today in one race on the ballot this year. Stay tuned.
