Reliable word on the street is that arrest warrants can be expected today in Special Prosecutor Cody Hiland’s review of the Saline County sheriff’s office during the reign of Bruce Pennington. Multiple arrests in the offing. Pennington recently dropped out of a bid to be elected to the office again. The Pennington saga is long.

Pennington is to face felonies for theft of public money and reducing a jail sentence in return for kitchen renovation help — installation of granite countertops. He also will be charged with taking jail phone fund money to pay a public drunk and and resisting arrest fine.
Charges also being filed against former investigator Mike Frost for using his cell phone to do illicit drug deals, and former bookkeeper Jo Nell Mallory, Channel 4 reported. Mallory alleged waived a fine to get some free tile work in her home.
Greg Yarbrough of KARK says Pennington was cuffed at the local Walmart.
Warrants detail all the specifics, inlcuding the likes of Pennington converting $1,000 donated to buy SWAT team vests to his own use.
