Webb Hubbell will talk about his new legal thriller, “When Men Betray,” in a session from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the William F. Laman Library at 2801 Orange Street, North Little Rock.
Does Hubbell need an introduction? He’s the former Little Rock lawyer who joined the Clinton Administration in 1993 as associate attorney general, but left amid an investigation that sent him to prison for financial practices at the Rose Law Firm, where he’d once been managing partner. This also trapped him in Kenneth Starr’s Whitewater persecution machine.
His novel is set in Little Rock. And a lawyer friend who’s read it commends the tale, which touches politics, race relations and “a steamy world behind southern garden parties….”
Hubbell now lives in Charlotte, N.C.
C-SPAN will also be in attendance Saturday to tape the program for a nationwide audience.
