Lance Armstrong, famous drug abuser, will be in Little Rock tomorrow to ride in the Gran Fondo, according to his Twitter feed. It’s too late to ride with him, but you can and should attend POP on Main at noon on Main Street between Markham and Second streets. Chefs Matt Bell of South on Main, Tomas Bohm of The Pantry, Donnie Ferneau of Good Food, Travis McConnell of Butcher & Public and Arturo Solis of le klaxon noir will be serving up fancy food and Diamond Bear will be pouring delicious beer. It’s $35 for adults and $10 for children 6-12. The Arkansas Times is a sponsor.

Speaking of famous drug abusers, Fox 16 apparently has reason to think that Alex Rodriguez is in town. The Democrat-Gazette reported last month (paywall) that Rodriguez and Karl Malone were in talks with Steve Landers about forming an auto group.

The stars are aligning, y’all. If you’re a fan of the “once greatest athletes in their sports to be undone by doping scandals” or would enjoy heckling them, there’s gotta be a 2 percent chance they’ll end up at Midtown with the Mailman and the Landers crew. More heckling material of the downright despicable and kids-appear-in-the-darndest-movies (in case Steve Landers Jr. shows up) varieties.
