The Rasmussen polling this week shows Republican Asa Hutchinson with a 48-41 lead over Democrat Mike Ross in the race for governor. 4 percent preferred one of two other candidates in the race; 6 percent were undecided. Rasmussen tends to lean Republican, but Hutchinson has also tended to have a gap in recent polling.
Ross has just rolled out negative ads against Hutchinson, which may or may not move numbers. Hutchinson has been pounding Ross for some time. Hutchinson is not exactly robust for a fourth-time statewide candidate against a Democrat who’s never run more than a congressional district race. Maybe Mark Pryor’s GOTV effort can carry Ross over the finish line, too. Except Rasmussen also gave Tom Cotton the lead, an outlier from most other recent polling in the U.S. Senate race.
