The Twitter photo feed from the March for Marriage — a right-wing- and Catholic-sponsored shindig in Washington in favor of continued discrimination against gay people — doesn’t appear to have attracted much of a crowd. This photo, by a rally supporter, was posted after the rally began at noon Washington time. Speakers included Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee. Photos from rally opponents, taken from a greater distance make clear the small size of the gathering.
Whatever the sentiments against marriage equality might be — polls say the issue is trending favorably nationally, if still short of majority support in Arkansas — I find credible some findings in new Human Rights Campaign polling. A huge majority about two-thirds, said that if marriage equality became e the law of the land they doubt it would affect them much. And if the courts do produce that result, only 3 percent in the poll said they would mount protests. Finally, the poll said 59 percent of Young Republicans favor marriage equality.
