Republican U.S. Rep. Tom Cotton distributed the photo above on Twitter of himself and his new wife, Anna, shopping for guns at a Little Rock gun show.

Speaking of Tom Cotton: Word circulated on social media that Cotton would have a rare news conference today. I can find no evidence that the Arkansas Times, either a persistent critic such as myself, or other reporters had received an invitation to the event. Cotton’s press aide didn’t respond to my inquiry about the event.

I hope I’m missing something here. Because otherwise, aide David Ray’s incessant yammering about U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor’s failure to sign onto a debate schedule as yet would look, well, a little hypocritical. It already does given the hermetically sealed bubble in which Cotton has operated.

UPDATE: Confirmed. Cotton has press conf. this morning. Ark. Times not invited. Shades of petulant Mike Huckabee. A similar press policy by the Huckster proved little obstacle to us. I doubt this one will either.
