The Arkansas Press Association has scheduled a full slate of debate-style appearances by candidates for statewide office at its convention Friday in Hot Springs.

The joint appearances are open only to APA members and convention registrants, but they will be streamed on the web here.

Candidates for lieutenant governor will appear at 9 a.m.;  for attorney general at 10:30 a.m.; for governor at noon, and for U.S. Senate at 2:30 p.m.

I’m checking to see if all candidates are committed to appear. A news release from Mike Ross, Democratic candidate for governor, said all candidates in that race are scheduled, including Josh Drake (Green); Frank Gilbert (Libertarian), and Asa Hutchinson (Republican).

UPDATE: There will be no Senate debate. Neither Mark Pryor nor Tom Cotton will appearl.

In the lieutenant governor’s race, Tim Griffin will appear by Skype because he’ll be in Congress.

The format calls for opening statements and questions from moderators, with rebuttal time.
