The Arkansas Democratic Party will hold it state convention today at Philander Smith College and gather for the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner tonight at the Statehouse Convention Center, with remarks planned by Gov. Mike Beebe and Mike Ross, the candidate for governor, and Mark Pryor, the incumbent senator. Other candidates will be speaking at the convention.

A flavor of national politics will be added by the presence of the Ready for Hillary bus. This is a publicity gimmick of the PAC set up to stimulate grassroots to prepare for an expected Hillary Clinton presidential candidacy. It will be at Philander this morning and parked by the convention center this afternoon. Other Arkansas stops include Hendrix College from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday.
