Chuck Todd begins his stint as host of NBC’s Meet the Press today and Channel 4 notes that the program, in addition to an interview with President Obama, will include results from yet another survey in the race for U.S. Senate between incumbent Democratic Mark Pryor and Republican Tom Cotton (and a couple of third party contenders.)

Trend says it will be close, a statistical dead heat.

NBC poll has Cotton up 45-40, with 5 points to third-party candidates and 10 points undecided.

Their poll also shows a broaded lead in Kentucky for Mitch McConnel over some early reports on his are with Allison Grimes.

The Arkansas poll of more than 1,000 likely voters by Marist has a 3 point margin of error.

Noted: Huge disapproval rate for Republicans in Congress. Also Democrats, though slightly higher for GOP,

The poll is dead even, 41-41, among registered voters as opposed to likely voters. Thus, the importance of an unusual turnout.

GOVERNOR’S RACE: The poll also sampled the race for governor. Results again favored the Republican:

The respondents tended to favor a Republican majority in Congress as a “check” on President Obama, whose disapproval rate remains huge — only about 30 percent approve. Bill Clinton has a high approval rate; Mike Beebe even higher, at 76 percent. The president’s health care legislation continues to suffer from majority disapproval.


49 percent of the voters in this poll considered themselves evangelical Christians.
