A little context, perhaps, for the decision of Democratic candidate Pat Hays, the former mayor of North Little Rock, to go on the offensive against Republican banker J. French Hill in their race for Congress.

AIR WARS, CONT’D — Crossroads to jump into AR-02: American Crossroads is jumping into the Arkansas 2nd district race on behalf of Republican French Hill, according to media trackers. Between Oct. 7 and Oct. 17, the group has reserved more than $1 million in airtime in the Little Rock, a spokesman for the group confirmed. Hill faces Democrat Patrick Henry Hays.

The Super PAC, founded by Karl Rove, likes to go for the jugular, so we’ll likely see some nasty spots attacking Hays this week. Or hey, maybe they’ll just trace J. French Hill’s roots as a ninth-generation Arkansan. Be sweet, Karl Rove. Be sweet.
