Republican attorney general candidate Leslie Rutledge has sent a news release with this subject line: “Join Governor Mike Huckabee and I This Monday.”

It’s a rally for her candidacy. She worked once for Huckabee when he was governor, though she left the staff abruptly and, according to her resume, was unemployed for a couple of months before landing another job. She later worked in the Huckabee presidential campaign. Just for fun, I asked Huckabee’s loyal former chief of staff, Brenda Turner, if she would shed any light on Rutledge’s departure back then. Alas, no, but she was very pleasant about it. Working at DaySpring, the Christian greeting card company, seems to agree with her.
