A Florida tax fugitive is jetting in to Arkansas today to rally Republican candidates. The Huckster will be at the River Market to tout several candidates. A news release from Leslie Rutledge, the candidate for attorney general, said former Gov. Mike Huckabee will be pushing her, Tim Griffin, who’s running for lieutenant governor, and J. French Hill, a candidate for Congress. No Asa?


The event is at 10:30 a.m. at the River Market pavilion. A release said media are “encouraged to attend and are required to RSVP.”

New polling today from Talk Business/Hendrix College shows former North Little Rock Mayor Pat Hays, the Democrat, leading Hill 46-41.5, with 4.5 percent behind the Libertarian in the race and another 8 percent undecided.

The poll also sampled the 1st District congressional race and found incumbent Republican Rep. Rick Crawford leading Democrat Jackie McPherson 52-30 with 14% undecided.
