Fox 16 reports that
a man with a gun robbed a group of students in Pomfret Hall, a University of Arkansas dormitory, about 6 p.m. Thursday. 

UPDATE: The posting of the photo led to an arrest of a juvenile who’s been charged with aggravated robberty.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas Police Department has released a photo of a person of interest in an armed robbery, reported last night (Thursday). The photo is posted on the UAPD Facebook page:


At 8:23 p.m., Nov. 6, University Police received a report of an armed robbery that occurred earlier in the evening in Pomfret Hall. Police are searching for an individual who followed closely behind residents to enter the hall at around 6:00 p.m. The suspect is described as a black male with scruffy facial hair, mid 20s, wearing black sweat pants and a maroon long-sleeved hooded sweat shirt with a pink backpack on his back. It is reported the suspect held a small pistol during the robbery.

UAPD believes this is an isolated event and will continue to gain information and share safety-related updates as beneficial to the community.


The Division of Student Affairs has put the University Housing units, the Student Union, and Library on full alert and are taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Police are asking anyone who may have information that will help identify and/or locate the suspect to contact University Police at 479-575-2222. The other police agencies in Northwest Arkansas have been notified.

As a general safety precaution, students are always strongly advised to go out in groups, and reminded to use caution when walking alone and when entering residence halls. Report anyone who enters a hall without authorization. Residents are reminded to not prop doors open or to provide access to strangers. Residence halls are not accessible to the public due to the security systems in place.

Students may also call for an escort or use Safe Ride. Razorback Patrol Escort Service is available Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. and provides escorts on campus. Safe Ride is available Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. and provides service from anywhere in the Fayetteville city limits to your official residence as indicated in ISIS.
