Well, the Duggars have really made the bigtime. The “19 Kids and Counting” reality show family is now featured in a “Shouts and Murmurs” piece by Paul Rudnick in The New Yorker. Rudnick writes:

As the Duggar kids have matured, Jim Bob has allowed only chaperoned dates, and, as People has reported, “the Duggar girls and beaus have agreed to only ‘side hugs’ pre-engagement and only hand-holding post-engagement. Their first kisses will be on their wedding days.”

I probably should add that “Shouts and Murmurs” is humorous fiction. I think.
