Another fire early this morning at Forest Place Apartments near Cantrell and University Ave., the same complex plagued by a series of fires in 2013 which were determined to be the work of a serial arsonist. Investigators say this morning’s fire does not appear to have been intentionally set, however, blaming the blaze on faulty wiring.
The fire was reported at 2:45 a.m., and started in an attic. The fire damaged three apartments and caused around $300,000 in damage. More from KTHV.
In August, Lacey Ray Moore, 44, plead guilty to starting seven fires at the complex in the spring and summer of 2013. In October, she was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison, and was ordered to pay $12.5 million in restitution.
