Asa Hutchinson, who’ll be sworn in as governor Jan. 12, is throwing barbecues at four places around the state next week to meet and greet. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at his website, hutchinsoninauguration.com

He’s promising a “special announcement … specific to each area” at each barbecue.

All the dinners are from 6 to 8 p.m.: Monday, Jan. 5 at the Embassy Suites in Rogers; Tuesday, Jan. 6 at the Riverfront Pavilion in Fort Smith; Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Sue’s Kitchen in Jonesboro, and Thursday, Jan. 8 at Sherry and John Milam’s home in El Dorado.

UPDATE: In other inaugural events, Lt. Gov.-elect Tim Griffin announced he’d have a reception in his Capitol office following Hutchinson’s inaugural address on Jan. 13, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
