Here’s the midweek open line, today’s video news roundup and, from proud father Dustin McDaniel, a news photo of young people gathering around President Obama following his State of the Union address Tuesday night.

The young man at upper right, immediately behind a girl young woman with glasses, is his stepson, CJ Fowler, 16, a student at Central High School who’s currently serving as a page for U.S. Sen. Harry Reid (there are 30, with 14 chosen by minority senators, split equally between young men and women). CJ, who got help from former Sen. Mark Pryor in landing the slot, is an officer in the Arkansas Young Democrats, McDaniel notes, so the political landscape here hasn’t turned completely red. The photo is from the Daily News. CJ was in the  background of the New York Times photo today, too.
