Police today identified Johnny Winfield Jr., 40, as the man shot to death about 5:30 p.m. Monday at 2202 Blackwood Road.

He was found in the bedroom of the home, whose occupants include his father. Gloria Tate, 58, was arrested at the scene by officers and charged with first-degree murder. A report on the shooting refers to an unspecified “scuffle” between Tate and Winfield. Police said the two had once “dated.”
