It’s hellish day outside, which I guess you know if you’ve ventured out. But here’s the open line.

News notes:

* ANOTHER HOMICIDE: LRPD investigating the shooting death of a young woman, Sharniece Hughes, 35, in the 6500 block of Mabelvale Pike.

* FIRST AMENDMENT FOR WHITES ONLY? President Obama today said the quarterback is exercising his constitutional right by taking a knee for the National Anthem and he thinks the symbolic protest has prompted some useful discussion. He also acknowledged it was a tough thing for many to accept. Well, yes and no. Check the racist howl from some members of the Fox News nation over the president’s remarks. Commenters there have exercised their First Amendment protected speech to call the president and Colin Kaepernick n******.  That political segment is all about suppression — of speech, voting and civil rights — of minorities. See any irony in use of the First Amendment to bully others into silence?
