The University of Arkansas says it will not release a guest list for the $450,000 “gala’ on campus Friday night that’s part of the beginning of a new fund drive.

Said spokesman Mark Rushing:

Friday night’s gala is an invitation only event. I can tell you that benefactors and students as well as faculty and staff representatives have been invited. We do not plan to release a guest list.

I have asked for clarification if that is also the response to a formal Freedom of Information Act request.

The UA has said it will post video clips from the event, so some attendees may be visible in the views given the not-so-fortunate. Unless some face blurring technology is employed.
