It is Arkansas Gives day, the day when contributions to many local charities can bring additional contributions.

Donate online between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Charities will compete for cash prizes for the most individual donations and the most dollars. And, of course, the contributions help regardless.

Everybody has their own favorite. But I’ll be sending something again to Lucie’s Place, the small but growing effort to provide shelter and support for LGBT youths.

Lucie’s has a modest goal of $30,000. It needs it, having just opened its second home. You’ll be in good company. The Daughters of Charity just provided Lucie’s with some important support.
