Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced today that the Higher Education Department would send $500,000 to the University of Central Arkansas, which will partner with AETN on a program to train students to detect and defeat cyber attacks.

The money will pay for a “cyber range,” a simulated computer system on the UCA campus. Students will learn about cyber security and AETN will make the program available to high school and college students elsewhere in the state. UCA and AETN also are going to cooperate on developing cyber security, coding, computer programming, computer science and other curricula in Arkansas schools.
