Big development from Lance Turner on a story Arkansas Business has been following: A judge in Ouachita County has ordered exhumation of a body to review cause of death.

It’s the body of Matthew Seth Jacobs, who reportedly died in a one-car wreck in January 2015. He left a $1.7 million estate thanks to benefits he received as a survivor of the Deep Water Horizon disaster in 2010. A Camden real estate agent faked his will to claim the money. The plot was discoverd and she’s heading to prison. The money was restored to Jacobs’ son.

Now Judge Edwin Keaton has found “reasonable cause exists to believe” that Jacobs’ death “occurred under circumstances contrary” to that of the auto accident and bodily trauma. His order authorized the Arkansas State Police to exhume Jacobs’ remains and the state medical examiner to perform an autopsy.
