Gov. Asa Hutchinson has announced the appointment of Mike Freeze, co-owner of Keo Fish Farms, to the state Pollution Control and Ecology Commission succeeding John Chamberlin for a term running through 2021.

Freeze, a former biologist for state Game and Fish, has been a member of the Game and Fish Commission and the Arkansas Development Finance Authority.

UPDATE: I knew Freeze had been a Game and Fish appointee of Mike Beebe. What I’d forgotten was that he figured prominently in some independent expenditures during the 2014 race for governor. He slammed Hutchinson hard on some issues that developed during his successful race against Mike Ross. Asa is a forgiving sort, I guess. I doubt forgetful.
