In 2015, Texas passed a law legalizing sale of CBD, a non-euphoric oil derived from cannabis, for treatment of certain medical conditions. The Texas Tribune reports that the first crop has been harvested, almost three years after the legislation was signed.

By way of comparison, Gov. Asa Hutchinson signed Arkansas medical marijuana laws in January 2017, about 14 months ago. Our law DOES allow sale of full-blown cannabis, not just CBD. Good video from Texas Tribune on growing process:
