The state affiliate of Koch-funded advocacy group Americans for Prosperity, which has spent millions of dollars during the last several election cycles in Arkansas, today announced that it will host a tax policy forum on April 13 at the Capitol.

Governor Hutchinson will deliver remarks on tax policy, along with AFP policy director Akash Chougle and Jeremy Horpedahl of the Arkansas Center for Research in Economics. Sounds like a ball.

The event will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the State Capitol Rotunda. Only credentialed media are invited but AFP will livestream the event on social media.

AFP senior vice president Teresa Oelke issued the following statement in the group’s press release:

We’ve already seen the benefits of principled tax reform on the federal level – more jobs, more business investment, and more take-home pay for the American worker. The time has come for Little Rock to deliver the same kind of bold tax reform on the state level. Arkansans know how to spend their money better than the government and when they can keep more of what they worked so hard to earn, our state economy flourishes. We are very excited to host this special forum and look forward to hearing from Governor Hutchinson and leading policy experts about how to push for tax reform in Arkansas.
