40/29 reports that Asa Hutchinson III of Rogers, the governor’s son, was arrested early this morning in Washington County for DWI, violation of the implied consent law (which generally means refusing to take a Breathalyzer) and speeding. He was released on bond and has a July trial date in West Fork District Court.

The jail record says the State Police made the arrest. A spokesman said the original stop was for speeding (88 in a 70 mph zone) near Springdale.

Hutchinson had an earlier DWI conviction in Fayetteville thrown out on appeal. It subsequently developed he was carrying a concealed weapon but wasn’t charged by the trooper though his concealed carry permit was expired. He was arrested on a drug possession charge in Alabama in 2016 and released in a pre-trial diversion deal that included that he avoid further arrests.

Hutchinson, 42, is a lawyer.
