Donald Trump plans to politicize the military today by employing the Marine band and Army chorus to perform the National Anthem “loudly and proudly” as an in-your-face rebuke of the members of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Trump last night canceled a session today with the NFL champions after it developed only a small contingent of the team would appear. He’s turned it into another installment of his reality show presidency, strumming racial discord for political benefit. No Eagles participated in Anthem disputes during the season. Many engage in charitable works. None has expressed disrespect for the military. Some have expressed disrespect for Trump or unhappiness about discrimination in America.

Trump will show them who’s boss.

UPDATE: At Trump’s concert he had to hustle up staffers to swell the crowd. A bunch of those in attendance couldn’t name the Eagles quarterback. Real fans. But best was this.
