Two months into a new fiscal year, Arkansas tax revenue is running comfortably ahead of last year.

Gross revenues in August were 4.7 percent more than the same month a year ago and 1.8 percent higher than the forecast. For the first two months of the year, gross revenues are up 3 percent and 1.6 percent over forecast. About $18 million in surplus has accrued in net revenue.
