The Health Department Monday said it was investigating a cluster of illnesses among recent customers of JJ’s Beer Garden and Brewery in Fayetteville. It’s seeking anyone who experienced diarrhea or vomiting after a visit there between Sept. 13 and Monday.

The Health Department said it had reports of illness from 101 people within 24 to 36 hours after visiting the restaurant. No one has been hospitalized and tests so far haven’t identified a cause.

The owner of JBGB, Jody Thornton, released a statement:

“We are cooperating with the health department to determine the source of this issue. JBGB has passed every heath inspection since it has opened. They have been in JBGB several days and tested all of our procedures, training processes, recipes, ingredients, and all real claims about illnesses. Our deepest concerns go out to the customers affected. We have served thousands of items over the years and have never had an experience like this. We are confident that the health department will determine that we complied with all applicable laws and regulations.”
