Democrat Mike Lee today criticized his opponent, Republican Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, for raising money from makers of opioids.

Rutledge is chair of the Republican Attorneys General Association, which has built a formidable PAC with contributions from corporate interests, including pharmaceutical companies. Lee said drug makers have given some $1 million to RAGA. He said this raises questions about Rutledge’s efforts against opioid addiction in Arkansas. He faulted her for refusing to join a class action lawsuit by most counties and cities in Arkansas against drugmakers.

Said Lee:  “They won’t get a free pass from me. I’ll take them to court.”

Lee also noted an ethics complaint filed against Rutledge this week by Matt Campbell, a Little Rock lawyer and Blue Hog Report blogger. He says Rutledge’s campaign took a $2,700 contribution from the RAGA PAC before it was properly registered as a PAC in Arkansas.
