Lots of mystery in this press release announcing that Ira’s, a Main Street restaurant that’s only been open since July, is changing its name to Allsopp & Chapple and bringing on a new chef. Unanswered here: What happened to Ira Mittleman, the chef/owner? Mittleman, who previously ran Ira’s Park Hill Grill in Little Rock, had initially sought to open Ira’s on Main in early 2017, but delays pushed that back significantly. A call to the restaurant didn’t clarify anything. A manager said he’d pass my number to the owners. I’ll update if I hear any more.

Ira’s Restaurant would like to thank our customers and the community for the tremendous support we have received. We are proud to be a part of downtown Little Rock’s Main Street corridor resurgence!

Beginning Tuesday, October 30th, we will transition to a new name, Allsopp & Chapple Restaurant + Bar, and introduce new Executive Chef Bonner Cameron.

The restaurant will continue to uphold our commitment to being one of Little Rock’s best fine dining establishments, offering exceptional food, drinks, service and ambiance.
Allsopp & Chapple Bookstore was once the premier bookseller in Arkansas, occupying the Rose Building shortly after it was constructed in 1900, and was a mainstay in downtown Little Rock for over five decades. Now, customers can once again visit Allsopp & Chapple in the same location as a century ago and enjoy a premier dining experience!

Executive Chef Bonner Cameron is a local favorite and dedicated to offering the highest quality modern American cuisine. Chef Bonner has been both locally and nationally recognized for his culinary work, including being a Diamond Chef Arkansas finalist. His chef driven menu uses the freshest ingredients which are handcrafted into unique, signature creations.

Allsopp & Chapple is open 11 am – 10 pm (M-F), 4 pm – 10 pm (Sat). We pride ourselves in outstanding service, fine dining, and an extensive wine list. There is a full bar on-site with signature cocktails created by celebrated bar manager Michael Hollis. We offer weekday lunch service accommodating both busy professionals and leisure lunch-goers. Allsopp & Chapple looks forward to serving you!
