Negotiations between the Little Rock Education Association and the Little Rock School District on a new contract ended today without a new agreement to replace the one rejected by Education Commissioner Johnny Key, who wants the ability to summarily fire teachers in 22 schools.

Negotiations will resume Tuesday. The groups have until Nov. 14 to come to terms or the contract expires, leaving all employees at the will of the “school board,” in other words charter school advocate Key He’s presided over a deterioration of the district (by his lights) in four years of his control.
