$14 million hotel announced for downtown El Dorado

Plans were announced today to build a boutique hotel in downtown El Dorado as part of the Murphy Arts District.

The Haywood, a $14 million project, is to be developed by Newmark Moses Tucker of Little Rock. The target opening is March 2020. A local ownership group, including members of the Murphy family, is backing the project, to be built a half-block from the Griffin Restaurant and Music Hall.

The four-story hotel will have 70 rooms and a full-service bar with limited food.
